some thoughts for your friday

1. if i peel one more piece of scotch tape off of something i will go mad.

2. sarah has a lot of energy. duh. this means she needs to sing at the top of her lungs, or she needs to have a very intense conversation that is mostly one sided and involves a lot of facial expressions and sound effects. mostly it means she needs to dig around in the trash or in the backyard or underneath her bed and find something and then cut it or color it or alter it or scotch-tape something to it a million times over. the bigger it is, the better. the more delicate it is, the better. it will automatically become something special and need to be dragged around the house and also NO ONE CAN TOUCH IT (because it is delicate and we might break it but also because it is so special). chances are it will be abandoned in the living room and we cannot see the tv anymore. kindergarten was really good for her because it involved running around and friends and creativity. and i knew this summer was going to be hard and I was a little bit worried about it. how was i going to handle all of this Sarah energy coming at me all day every day for those weeks of summer?

well, we've been quarantined for four weeks now and i know this: i wasn't going to handle it well. thus my aversion to scotch tape.

3. tiger king is a train wreck. it's hideous.

4. i began to craft out of desperation for something meaningful to occupy my time. i resent my craft. when i showed my therapist i said, "this is the quilt i'm making. isn't it dumb?"

i think i miss school. and classmates and learning and campus and walking up and down the hill and the library and peace and quiet.

best method of handling coronation? long early morning runs. even if it's raining. even if it's through avocado orchards that have signs telling you to get out or you'll be shot.
