what I read: daisy jones & the six

this isn't taylor jenkins reid's first novel. this one caught my eye because i LOVE rock n roll from the 60's and the 70's (think bob dylan, janis joplin, joni mitchell, delaney and bonnie, the rolling stones, the band, van morrison, etc.) and this book reads like an interview of a very famous rock n roll band finally "telling all". at first I had my doubts that an entire novel could be effectively done in an interview style but you guys, taylor works it out. and i loved it.

here's a keeper of a quote from teddy, the band's manager: "daisy, someone who insists on the perfect conditions to make art isn't an artist. they're an asshole."

read this book. if local, get it from chaucers

and then go watch 'the last waltz' featuring the band and their friends by martin scorsese. it got a 98% on rotten tomatoes. and also mark this moment: i have just recommended a movie. that never happens.
