these photos were taken a year ago. i just photographed this family of six (you heard me--that gorgeous woman in a mother of four!) TWICE in the last month. and it is a fact that the baby who was just a womb-mate in these photos is now in possession of some of the most amazing thighs i have ever seen. it isn't weird that i photographed the baby's thighs almost as much as i photographed the baby's face is it?
what i love about maternity and labor and delivery is how it is all a beginning. a reverent, wild, gorgeous, real beginning. you can't fake it. it's just what it is. and witnessing it is my favorite thing. seeing those babies grow into themselves. oh, how i love the babies i've witnessed for.
we met up in wildwood park, just as the sun was setting. i love megan's gown. i love her rings. i love her hair. and i love that megan trusted me so i free-lensed some of these images to get the depth of field. to me, the shallow depth of field reminds of the intimacy of the moment.
email me. let's photograph your pregnancy, your labor, your delivery, your first 24 hours in the hospital. let's witness this moment forever. (mirbird@gmail.com)
